Fall Fundraiser

Friday November 18th, 2022 @ 6pm

Free show - all ages welcomed

Groundworks is hosting the fall fundraiser, ROOTS! There will be an art sale in the gallery filled with local Tucson artists, as well as, a free live show featuring three talented Tucson local bands. As Groundworks celebrates our one year anniversary at the “new” space, we want to continuously grow our ROOTS. We are dedicated to developing creativity and talent in Tucson’s Youth Arts Scene. This includes our weekend shows, our gallery’s next call for artist, and education events.

Please come by our space (2919 E Grant Rd) to check out some cool art, jam out to music, meet the Groundworks staff, and/or just to hang out. We really appreciate all the support we have received since 2019. Thank you for your unconditional love and support for Groundworks!

Adrian Cornejo, born in Cumpas, Sonora, Mexico, lives and works in Tucson, AZ. They earned both their BFA and MFA from the Southwest University of Visual Art in Tucson. Adrian’s artwork revolves around causality in relationships and regularly incorporates themes of racism, queerness, and Othering and manifests in myriad of mediums from drawing to photography and installation.

Marica Whittemore (she/her) is an artist and dog enthusiast living in Tucson, Arizona. An art educator and multimedia artist, she loves looking at the world with the creative eye (or two!). Her recent works depict snarky yet humorous observations about life, people, and the weird things going on in her mentally ill brain. When she isn’t making art, you’ll find her biking along the Loop, baking, watching terrible reality TV shows (but really loving it), and woodworking.

Sophie McTear is a nonbinary, disabled illustrator and graphic designer living in Tucson, Arizona. They make art inspired by their beliefs and personal activism, witchy things, their LGBTQ+ experience, and honest and vulnerable self-expression.
