PERIS LOPEZ
Bio (provided by artist): Peris Lopez is a sophomore in the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service focusing her studies at the intersection of art, education, and global equity. She was born in Tucson and is the oldest of three siblings. Peris hopes to create a curriculum to teach kids through creative expression. She believes the competitive nature of the American school system pressures people into disconnecting themselves from humanity. Her efforts aim at dissolving the right/wrong binary by replacing it with open-ended learning methods so that humans progress towards a more equitable, global, community. Peris currently works as a tutor and artist for Georgetown's Center for Social Justice.

The angles in this drawing all follow the path of 5 specific points on the paper. This is my first attempt at illustrating 5-point perspective. Recently, I've meditated on the ease with which our senses (particularly vision), and conception of reality, can be deceived. My drawing of the canals in Georgetown, DC attempts to depict the arbitrariness of reality. The drawing is displayed on a large clipboard surface which I use for making all of my art.
