PERSONAL BELONGING is a collaborative exhibit between artists Emily Kray and Sophie Schwab exploring personal items that we associate with our identities. This exhibition showcases the volume, weight, and density of objects that add notes of representation to our identities: the objects we hold with greed and longing, objects with tensile potential, and objects that posit the difference between comfort and the unknown. Pivoting around representational aesthetics and towards abstraction allows these objects to portray an unseen dynamic within them. This also gives us clues as to how they aid in formulating our own identities.
